E. Goebel在这幅插图的右下角署了名。多雷让听众挤满画面，又用一棵大树的树冠把顶部合拢，使这一场景显得荫蔽而亲近，更像乡村里的聚会，而不是一场盛大的场面。
耶稣头上有细细的光环，靠着树干坐在一处高地上，一边说话，一边举起一只手。缠头巾、披外衣的男人们站在他周围；女人们坐在前面的地上。有的跪在近旁，一个人用手掩着脸。
