The districts of Solomon

Mapmaker: Tanner, Henry Schenck · Year: 1826

From «An Atlas of Ancient Geography», published by Henry S. Tanner in Philadelphia in 1826 «to elucidate the writings of the ancient authors, both sacred and profane». This plate draws the twelve districts whose officers supplied Solomon's household, each a month in the year, named after the officers in chapter 4 of the First Book of Kings: Ben-Hur, Ben-Deker, Baana, Geber and the rest.
