Hieromartyrs Alexander, Alexis and Peter, Priests

Commemorated: July 6 (June 23, Old Style)

Life

In June 1918, during the first months of Bolshevik rule, several priests of the Yekaterinburg diocese in the Urals were killed. Among them was the archpriest Alexander Miropolsky, born in 1847, who served from 1911 at the Dormition church of the Kasli ironworks. Red Guards arrested him on 22 June, beat him and shot him during the night of 23 June. He was buried by that church. The priests Peter Smorodintsev (born 1866) and Alexis Vvedensky, who died in the same days, are remembered with him. All three were canonized in 2002.
