Tradition
St Dominic of the Causeway, who died in 1109, built a road, a bridge and a hospital for pilgrims. By tradition, a hanged pilgrim was saved here; in memory a live hen and rooster are kept in the cathedral.
Here today
The cathedral, begun in the 12th century, holds the tomb of St Dominic and a carved henhouse.
