Puente la Reina

Tradition

The town is named after a queen who, by tradition, had the bridge built for pilgrims in the 11th century; which queen it was is uncertain. Here the road from the Somport pass joins the Camino Francés.

Here today

A Romanesque stone bridge of six arches over the Arga river, still crossed on foot.
