Laodicea

In the Bible

To Laodicea: you are neither cold nor hot. Paul asked that his letter to the Colossians be read in the church of the Laodiceans too.

Rev 3:14–16To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Originator of God’s creation. I know your deeds; you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were one or the other! So because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to vomit you out of My mouth!
Col 4:15–16Greet the brothers in Laodicea, as well as Nympha and the church that meets at her house. After this letter has been read among you, make sure that it is also read in the church of the Laodiceans, and that you in turn read the letter from Laodicea.

Here today

A large excavated city: colonnaded streets, two theaters, temples and a church of the 4th century.
