Jesus stands alone on the top of a rocky height against a deep blue night sky full of stars, with a thin crescent moon. He wears a long white mantle and holds his arms out from his sides.
Steps cut into the grey rock lead up to him from below. Tissot made the picture tall and narrow, like many in the series, so that the figure stands at the very top of the page.
