Venerable Martyr Theogenes

Life
Theogen (Feogen) Kozyrev, born in 1862, became a monk and in 1926 a hieromonk, and later an archimandrite in Alma-Ata in Kazakhstan. In 1932 he was arrested for helping exiled clergy and sentenced to three years of exile; released early in 1934, he was arrested again in 1935. He died in 1939. The Russian Church canonized him in 2000.
