New Hieromartyrs Priests Joseph and Vladimir, Deacon John and Martyr John

Archpriest Joseph Smirnov, the priest Vladimir Ilyinsky, the deacon John Kastorsky and the layman John Perebaskin belonged to the diocese of Kostroma. All four died for their faith on 7 March 1918 (new style), in the first months of Soviet rule. The Russian Church numbered them among its new martyrs in 2000.
