Commemorated: April 20 (April 7, Old Style)

Life

Arcadius Dobronravov, born in 1868 in a village of the Kazan province, was the son of a deacon. After graduating from the Kazan seminary in 1889 he served in Pichkasy and from 1896 at the church in Tsivilsk, and from 1912 was a protopriest.

In 1931 he was accused of anti-Soviet agitation for opposing the closing of churches, and on 10 June was sentenced to five years in the Mordovian camps, although a prison doctor had noted his heart disease. He died in confinement on 20 April 1933. In 2007 the Holy Synod added him to the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church.
