Martyrs Pharnacius, Orentius, Eros, Firmus, Firminus, Cyriacus, and Longinus
Commemorated: July 7 (June 24, Old Style)
Life
Orentius, Pharnacius, Eros, Firmus, Firminus, Cyriacus and Longinus were seven brothers by birth and soldiers. They suffered for their faith under the emperors Diocletian and Maximian, on the shores of the Black Sea, at the turn of the fourth century. The old Lives record only these few facts.
Retold briefly in our own words from: the Lives of the Saints by St Dimitry of Rostov (1902–1916).
